Hey ~ I’m Anna.
As a general health junkie, I’ve been exploring the detox world for more than eight years, often doing a cleanse twice each year at the change of the seasons.
As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, I’ve been trained in the classic methods of panchakarma – the Ayurvedic methods of cleansing. I’ve seen incredible results at an Ayurvedic clinic and panchakarma center in India.
I’m also the head coach for Living Ayurveda (an in-depth school program) and been a mentor for the Yogi Detox with Cate Stillman – supporting over 300 people through extended detoxes and seasonal cleanses.
With this work, and especially my own experience, I’ve seen some amazing healing results and transformations – both big and small.
My intention is to guide and support you through your detox, while helping you to feel confident and curious to explore what’s best for you. With my plan, you’ll be in charge of customizing your own unique detox and the best experience to upgrade your own health and wellbeing.
Detoxing is a special time different than your regular life. It’s a time and space that you carve for yourself for an upgrade in personal health and self care.
It’s about more than “what to eat or what not to eat.”
When you shift your life for detox, even ever so slightly, you can shift away from the patterns that lead you down the road of disease, depression, allergies and anxiety.
You can make a shift to establish new habits and an improved way of living that will adjust your aim toward becoming more of the person you want to be and how you want to feel – next week, next year, next decade.
The more you can slow down and turn your attention inward, the more pleasant and beneficial your detox will be. You’ll learn to enjoy and even crave the seasonal opportunity to check out of the hustle n bustle and check-in to your deeper desires and ultimate wellness.
Detox is a time of radical self-care, nourishment, personal growth and expansion into consciousness.
It’s a time when we lessen what we ingest – through the mouth and all five senses, to support the body and deep intelligence within to digest and burn away what isn’t serving.
This includes digesting: unprocessed emotions, limiting thoughts, old beliefs, excess weight, toxins, excess food, processed food ‘stuff’ unrecognized by the body, blocked or stagnant energy, anything that’s built up from overeating, over indulging, over doing, eating heavy at night, poor food combinations, etc.…
All of these things undigested in the body, mind or emotions are considered to be ama in Ayurveda. Ama blocks the flow of consciousness. It dulls our shine, confuses our system, and sets us up to suffer.
When we detox, and take less in, we support the body and mind to process and burn off the ama. We develop a glow. We shine from deep within the center. We radiate from the heart.
Detoxing is a shift in the digestive power of your body. Instead of the digestive energy being focused at the base of your stomach (where you feel the burning sensation of hunger), detox shifts your digestion into a metabolic state.
You are simply lessening the burden placed on the main digestion by lessening what you consume, to free up the energy and allow it to focus on digesting things throughout the body. These cellular fires sweep through the body and ‘clean house.’ They break down what has accumulated over time and act as a cellular surgery.
You literally burn away and clear out the crap that’s bogging down your body, mind and spirit.
Your body (and consciousness) is so incredibly intelligent. It knows exactly what to do. In this sense, we don’t have to excessively focus on what to eat or not eat.
Instead, we create this time to slow down and enter into detox mode. We ease up on what we’re ingesting through our senses and mouth. We give consciousness and our innate intelligence the time and space to digest, process and release.
Through the power of our awareness, the ama (toxins or gunk) is transformed.
The biggest thing I learned this time around was to examine my relationship with food and substances.
Am I eating/drinking this because I’m bored, lonely, trying to reward myself, or is it just routine? I learned that I can do without all of it (alcohol, fat, sugar, caffeine, processed foods, gluten) painlessly. And, those things are not part of my routine anymore. I might indulge occasionally now, but I don’t feel worried that it will become a habit since I’ve done the cleanse.
Over many decades, I have had relatives that have died of alcoholism and drug addiction, and obesity is also a theme in my extended family. It is freeing to know that I can make healthy choices when dealing with life’s problems, instead of beating a path towards unhealthy relationships with food and substances.
I also started attending a meditation class once a week, which is really helping. I am still a work in progress, but I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom.
I thank you for all of this. I appreciate you. xoxo. Julie
This cleanse has been the perfect motivation to make some changes.
I feel lighter and I carry myself differently. I’m more confident and I’m sitting taller.
I’m way more intentional with planning my day, and only saying yes to what’s best.
I truly feel in control of my outcomes. I’m reflective and positive about what I have to do going forward.
